Happy Weekend everyone!
It is a great time to think about BBQ dinner with Family and Friends!
I am just wondering which one you have chosen: gas or charcoal?
Humans learned how to start a fire between 40 and 50 thousand years ago. Shortly thereafter, they started using fire to cook things to eat. In more recent history, grilling has become a favorite way to socialize during family meetings, camping trips and sporting events. Modern grills allow for even heat distribution and regulation and many cookbooks are now geared specifically towards recipes that focus on grilling.
There are two major types of grills: Propane gas grills and charcoal grills. Grilling is often a healthier option in terms of nutrition, some concerns have been raised over the possible connection between charcoal grills and cancer risk. According to the medical researches, charring or burning meat causes heterocyclic amines to form, which can increase the risk for stomach and colorectal cancers. In addition, they recommend cleaning your grill after each use to prevent chemical build up which can then be transferred to your food! I also use BBQ Grill Mat,Non Stick Microwave Oven Tray Liner Teflon Cooking Mats – Heat Resistant for Baking Pizza,Grilling Meat Veggies & Seafood on Gas,Charcoal or Electric Eholder Set of 3 + 1 Silicone Basting Brush Outdoor Camping & Picnic Barbecue Sheets.
My favourite is charcoal grill! To reduce the negative effects absorbed into the food by grilling with charcoal I always marinate the meat and veg! It may actually reduce up to 90% of the harmful chemicals absorbed that have been told to cause cancer. I also watch a temperature while grilling. As with any form of cooking, proper food handling techniques and cooking all food to minimum internal temperature is crucial. If food is handled improperly or not cooked thoroughly, foodborne illness become a serious concern. Ground beef should be cooked to 160 F; poultry to 165 F; pork must be cooked to 145 F and seafod is poperly cooked at 145F.
As I said before proper marinate is needed to prevent our meat from absorbing harmful chemicals.
I have done some researches and the healthiest one is based on dark beer!
For 1kg meat I use:
150ml dark beer (Guinness),
60ml coconut oil,
2tblsp dijon mustard,
1tbsp lemon juice,
Salt and black pepper,
I mix all ingredients together and pour over the meat. Leave it for 4-5 hours in the fridge.

I always make fresh veg salad as well. My favorite one is feta cheese, avocado salad:
1 romaine lettuce,
1 avocado,
100g feta cheese,
1 cucumber,
1 red and yellow pepper,
spring onions,
cocktail tomatoes,
2tbsp lemon juice,
3tbsp olive oil,
1tbsp dijon mustard,
fresh dill,
black pepper,

I hope my experience shared today will help you to make a wonderful evening and bring delicious BBQ food to the table! Enjoy! 😀
