It is getting cold! With temperature starting to drop across the country, our skin especially face needs to be properly protected from cold, wet, windy weather and central-heating. It is good time to look at protective cream which gives you nutrition and keep your skin hydrated. You can find a wide selection of creams in the shops and internet. I spend fortune every year as I had to buy 2 or 3 different creams for the winter season to keep my skin in the good condition. Now I came to the point when I decided to make one for myself using natural ingredients. Why do I need to spend so much money for all this chemicals?! Some known as a harmful, and many not even tested! I did necessary researches first to choose the most effective oils suitable for the skin to give me everything is needed. They are natural, universal and can be applied to any type of the skin. Let’s talk about the benefits of these oils I have chosen to make my ‘Winter Season’ cream:
Jojoba oil– it is a carrier oil. It plays the role of sebum and moisturizes our skin when our body stops doing it naturally.
Beewax– carries antiviral, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial properties that are essential in fighting chapped skin and bacterial infections that tend to affect us most in the dry, winter months. It forms a protective wall by sealing in moisture in our skin without smothering and clogging up the pores.
Frankincense essential oil– it is a powerful astringent, meaning it helps protect skin cells. It can be used to help reduce acne blemishes, the appearance of large pores, prevent wrinkles, and it even helps lift and tighten skin to naturally slow signs of aging.
Cocoa butter– high in fatty acids, which is why it’s often touted for its ability to hydrate and nourish the skin and improve elasticity. The fat in cocoa butter forms a protective barrier over skin to hold in moisture. Cocoa butter is also rich in natural plant compounds called phytochemicals. These substances may improve blood flow to the skin and slow skin aging by protecting against damage from the sun’s harmful UV rays.
This is a quick and easy make to help with through the rest of the season by combating chapped skin. It is a brilliant make for those cold weather dog walkers, gardeners and anyone who loves winter sports! If you wish to make one for yourself, here is the recipe:
