Homemade Body Butter Recipe

Christmas is coming soon and it is time to think about the Christmas presents. My idea for this year is homemade face cream and body butter. It is all natural ingredients, just pure oils. Last time I have published recipe how to make face cream. Today I would like to share how to make body butter. It is based on shea butter, almond oil and coconut oil. Oils have been used since ancient times to moisturize skin and hair, treat inflammatory skin conditions and protect the skin from environmental damage. They are rich in vitamins A, E, F and K making skin nourishing and healing. Did you know that shea butter has so much vitamin A that it can be called a vitamin ‘A’ on its own!

Body Butter Ingredients:

1 cup Shea Butter,

1/2 cup Coconut Oil,

1/2 cup  Almond Oil (you can substitute olive oil, jojoba oil, any organic, liquid oil that is healthy),

I also add Rosehip Oil, as I love the smell and extra benefits like reducing skin pigmentation,

How to make it:

1. Melt shea butter and coconut oil in the top of a double boiler. Remove from heat and let cool for 30 minutes.

2. Stir in almond oil and essential oils of your choosing- I added 20 to 25 drops of Rosehip Oil.

3. Use a hand mixer to whip for 10 minutes until fluffy.

4. Store in the Glass Jar with a lid and use as you would regular lotion or body butter.
