General Grant, deprived of it, sent a testy memo to the War Department in Washington: “I will not move my troops without onions”!😁The benefits of eating onions are incredible! They are rich in antioxidants such as quercin and sulphur. They have antibacterial benefits! In the old times, people used to leave cut in half onions around the house to absorb viruses and bacteria during the pandemic! Including onions in to your balanced diet may prevent and fight cancer, promote respiratory health, lower blood sugar level, enhance eye health, prevent inflammation and other allergies, enhance brain health, preventing osteoporosis. Onions are good source of Vit C and B6, Manganese, calcium, iron, folate, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium. I love raw red and yellow onions with fresh salads. During cold and flu season, I love cooking French Onion soup.
