Yellow Onion

Good morning lovely people! I hope everyone is keeping well!🥰Do we have any onion lovers here?! If your answer is yes, you are lucky! You give your body natural cold and flu protection. I know many people whose do not eat onions, because of the smell.🤔My post is dedicated for those people!😁Did you know, that onion and garlic juices are both mild antibiotics. In the Civil War, onion juice was routinely used to treat gunshot wounds. General Grant, deprived of it, sent a testy memo to the War Department in Washington: “I will not move my troops without onions”!😁The benefits of eating onions are incredible! They are rich in antioxidants such as quercin and sulphur. They have antibacterial benefits! In the old times, people used to leave cut in half onions around the house to absorb viruses and bacteria during the pandemic! Including onions in to your balanced diet may prevent and fight cancer, promote respiratory health, lower blood sugar level, enhance eye health, prevent inflammation and other allergies, enhance brain health, preventing osteoporosis. Onions are good source of Vit C and B6, Manganese, calcium, iron, folate, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium. I love raw red and yellow onions with fresh salads. During cold and flu season, I love cooking French Onion soup.

French Onion Soup: 6 large yellow or red onions, 4 tbsp olive oil, 2tbsp butter, 1 tsp brown sugar, 2 cloves of minced garlic, 8 cups of beef stock, 1tsp fresh thyme, 1 tbsp marjoram, 1/2 cup dry white wine, grated Parmesan and Gruyère cheese. You need to slice all onions first. Caramelising on olive and butter is the most complicated. You need to watch and stir until the onions start to brown. Sprinkle with sugar and salt. Add garlic. Deglaze the pot with wine. Add beef stock, thyme and marjoram. Cook for about 30min on lower heat. Toast the French bread with cheese. Serving: I put slice of cheese toast onto the top of each bowl of soup. Enjoy!🥰

Another tip to get goodness of the onions is Onion Syrup.

Onion Syrup: 1 large yellow chopped onion, favourite natural honey. Use a jar! Make layer of chopped onion, pour over honey, another layer and honey until finished with layer of honey on the top! Leave overnight in the fridge! Take 1tbsp after each meal until finished! This is immune booster remedy. Enjoy!🥰

If you suffer from viral, or bacteria disease use onion as external treatment. Slice onion into 2 thick slices. Place each slice under your feet. Use silicone socks to hold them still.
