Eggshell Calcium Benefits

Happy Monday everyone! I just came back from long Bank Holiday weekend. It was very relaxing time, as we celebrated our friend’s 50th Birthday! The day before party, we booked therapeutic Thai Massage. I had ongoing problem with my ‘frozen’ shoulder. Last couple of days I felt pins and needles in my left hand fingers. My therapist did a great job. He is passionate about natural medicine too, so we had an effective conversation about DMSO unique benefits, collagen, and natural superfoods. He advised me to start taking eggshells powder as an extra super powerful supplement. I am 48 years old, so its time to pay attention to my bones.

Eggshells are loaded with calcium. Calcium is an essential mineral for the growth and development of new bones. It also helps regulate heart rhythm, promote muscle function, and control levels of magnesium, phosphorous and potassium in the blood.

Strengthens Bones and Osteoporosis. Clinical studies in postmenopausal women also indicate that eggshell powder can reduce the pain associated with osteoporosis and increase the mobility of the patients. These same studies form a connection between the eggshell powder treatment and an arrest of bone degeneration or, in some cases, an increase in overall bone density.

By combining the eggshell proteins with a substance called hyaluronan, scientists are revealing improved forms of  bone generation and tissue engineering. These efforts promise a less expensive and readily bioavailable source of calcium to be used for bone replacement.

Possess Anti-Inflammatory Effects. The powdered outer shells aren’t the only components of eggshells proving to have useful medical applications. One study gauged the effectiveness of using eggshell membranes as an alternative therapy for joint connective tissue disorders, such as arthritis, lupus, gout and back pain. These conditions are commonly treated with analgesics or anti-inflammatory drugs, which have limited effectiveness and can create cardiac risks and gastrointestinal issues.

How to make egg shell powder?

Allow the eggshells to cool. In a blender or coffee grinder, grind the eggshells until they become a fine, white powder. Take your homemade eggshell calcium however you prefer— with food, with water, or by itself. Half a teaspoon of the powder equals about 400 milligrams of calcium.

Enjoy and stay in good health!

Ps. My next article will be about natural Botox for beauty treatments lovers. 🙂
